About the Croatian Chemical Society
The Croatian Chemical Society is a professional association that brings together chemists and is involved in the development of chemistry in the Republic of Croatia. The Society's main goal is to develop and promote scientific, professional, and teaching activities in all areas of pure and applied chemistry.
The Croatian Chemical Society has five branches:
HKD - Rijeka (founded in 1958)
HKD - Split (founded in 1967)
HKD - Osijek (founded in 1979)
HKD - Varaždin (founded in 1997)
HKD - Pula (founded in 2012)
Sections and subsections are established within the Society to encourage more successful professional activities.
Currently, the following sections operate within the Society:
Section for Nomenclature and Terminology of Organic Chemistry HKD and HDKI (head: Tomislav Portada)
Section for Theoretical and Computational Chemistry (head: Borislav Kovačević)
Section for Analytical Chemistry and Spectroscopy (head: Snežana Miljanić)
Section for Organic Chemistry (head: Irena Škorić)
Section for Medicinal and Pharmaceutical Chemistry (head: Vesna Gabelica Marković)
Chemistry Education Section (head: Andrea Pehar)
Student Section (head: Josip Mikulić)
